- they have Camry and Altis as cabs. ya KL has Perdana cabs, though i nv took 1 b4. now Singapore..... enuff said
- skipped 综艺大哥大 though 1 of the tour package's highlight was this. reason: have to sit on a hard bench for 6 hrs under the spot lights (excluding NGs). supposedly no a/c. cannot eat or leave halfway. so nobody was interested and we shopped at Taipei 101 instead. even the 2 ladies who originally wanted to see celebrities at the show and hence opted for this tour package. enuff said
- the food is super cool. very different from Singapore. food in KL is surprise surprise, very much like in Singapore. anyways, 嘛辣火锅 is damn horrible. sweating and suffering while eating. 牛肉面。wah damn power. 破戒 though. 棺材板,鸡扒,苦瓜蜜汁,鸡屁股, oh lua mee swa, 木瓜牛奶,旦旦面 . all these things u will nv get to eat in singapore. or at least, not the "real" thing. enuff said.
well gtg. continue next time...

some thoughts
been watching TV alot (as compared to b4 the holidays). started off with Ah Hock in You Fu and Tong Xin Yuan. caught the 1st episode of LOST due to the trailers.... den The Negotiator began... oh well, not to OT too much. wad i wanted to say was that i somehow caught Shopping King & Queen (dunno wad the actual title is) and they featured ROC this week. i think next week will be on ROC as well. watching it brought back many memories.... but i cant totally recount my trips there. cos too long ago liao and the trips were too-many-days affairs. cant exactly remember wad i did this day and the next. but what i can distinctly remember was that its a mightily fun place. definitely worth going again. juz wondering if i will have the chance to go again soon??
well wad i can say is that going on trips with ur parents and ur frenz are 2 totally different experiences. with parents, there is unlimited financial backing, u can eat wadever u want and buy wadever u like. well u get my drift. but with frenz, theres total freedom. can do watever u want at wadever time u fancy. my mum is like saying why go ROC again when u haf been there twice already? quite a valid point, but i somehow juz like ROC.... now HK is somewhere i haben been b4. neither Bangkok if u exclude the time i went way back in pri skool. so many places, so little $$...
anyways the 1st time round i went Kaohsiung. totally industrial, but being the 2nd largest city in ROC, theres the usual shopping centres and night markets. less glamorous, but guess its not that bad afterall. contemplated taking the train to Taipei, but its a 8 hr trip to and fro. mighty waste of time. spent alot, wreaked havoc, and came back rather satisfied. oh, i had my 1st encounter with a typhoon too. stayed indoors for 2 days while the wind and rain lashed non-stop. the 2nd time round was to ROC, as in, the WHOLE island. covered the island in 8 days with my parents. quite hectic u can imagine, but most of the time was spent on the coach. double decker, but totally not as comfy as the Five Star one we caught from KL. 4 rows of seats with not much room for leaning back. aww crap, the taiwanese shld totally get the SSSVIP coaches malaysia is beginning to have. went from Taipei to Hualien to Kaohsiung to Taichung den back to Taipei again. stayed in a host of luxurious 5 star hotels, save for the last 2 nights at a crap hotel. its next to Ximenting though. stayed 1 night at each place and 2 nights when we got back to Taipei again. not as fun cos we did alot of sightseeing, less shopping and no clubbing. spent most of the day travelling on the coach when not sightseeing. but oh well, i did see all the major cities of ROC, not to mention the ocean views and mountains. not recommended if u get car sick though. Kaohsiung din change much when i got there, neither did KL between 2004 and 2005. guess its the same everywhere, just that we dun spend as much in singapore. dun spend = boring.

in memory: KL 2004
now, in the spirit of things, let me try to recall the 2004 trip.
Day 1:
assembled at 9+pm too. talked and took so much photos that the agent had to come and call us to board the coach. we actually intended to ask her to take a photo for us. oops! talked non-stop on the coach too. kena scolded by the driver. machiam nv go overseas b4... din sleep much on the journey...
Day 2:
ate at Happy Friends when they opened at 6+am. was taking photos b4 that, and after breakfast as well. lets see, checked in at 10+ and slept till 12+. was abruptly pulled out of bed by Pat to go play the outdoor theme park. den went KTV. den ate dinner at the cafe at Genting hotel. den played the indoor theme park. den watched King Arthur. non-stop action basically.... failed to sneak into the casino. bleah!!
Day 3:
woke and had breakfast at Resort cafe. den went back room to laze while Pat and Kun went casino. came back late and made us rush down to First World bus terminal. no idea why the coach took so long to leave for KL too. reached Capitol at 3+pm. den checked in and rushed off to KLCC. had a good look at the Petronas Twin Tower. den shopped at KLCC Suria. was raining and i remember we had to walk through the rain to KLCC from our hotel (yes! walk!!). had Nando's for lunch, den took the MRT to Pasar Seni. walked around Central Market b4 proceeding to Chinatown. had zi char dinner and shopped around b4 leaving. bought durians which were packed into boxes (minus the husks) so we could sneak them into our hotel room. hehe.... walked back to our hotel from Chinatown. amazing legs... after showering, we walked (again!!) from our hotel to Jalan P Ramlee. most happening place in KL. stupidly took a cab to Zouk from there, which was so near, but din go in. ended up walking back to P Ramlee, where we settled down and stayed till closing. cabbed back in the rain..... totally shacked out.
Day 4:
rise and shine. took a cab to Sunway Lagoon. spent the whole day there, tanning and playing the rides. not very fun.... skipped our plan to go Mid Valley Mall cos there was a Power Station concert at Sunway at night. made do with shopping at Sunway Pyramid. had Kenny Rogers there... and bought some stuffz. left the concert slightly earlier and cabbed back to the hotel.
Day 5:
woke up and went shopping at Sungei Wang as well as the general Bukit Bintang area. had lunch at the Chinese restaurant at Sungei Wang. slept on the coach back to Singapore after checking out at 3pm.
damn tiring trip cos we had little rest and walked so much. felt that we needed a holiday after coming back! was much better this year round. walked less, rested more, and equally fun. though i ended up with a damn cough that isnt going away despite the fact that i had been back for 4 days le. throat was sore at KL too... din mean to go KL again this year, but Bangkok was not to be.... wat to do.... hope can go ROC (now got typhoon) next time round. or HK. any takers??

Day 5:
woke and had the best breakfast so far at M floor. wasn't late. left for Mid Valley Megamall via train. KL Monorail Imbi to KL Sentral, switched to KTM Komuter and alighted at Mid Valley. total cost: RM 2.60. Mid Valley to KL Sentral, switched to Putra line and alighted at KLCC. another RM 2.60. more shopping b4 leaving. took the train again from KLCC and alighted at Pasar Seni. had dinner at Qi Cheong Gai (Chinatown). claypot rice + bak kut teh. pretty filling and nice. shopped all night there. finally got my Mitsubishi shirt, albeit the blue one. not too bad. a LV Daimler too.... no more regrets from 2004. hehe. no durians this time round, but theres longans... left via train from Pasar Seni to KL Sentral, switched to KL Monorail back to Imbi. yet another RM 2.60. ah, nice bed after an exhausting day.....

KL: ETA: 2200
tts right! im leaving for KL in approx. 8 hrs time.... yayyy! total holiday mood. but alas, 66.67% of my vacation has past... time to treasure the remaining time left and enjoy as much as possible. when skool reopens, its time for work! been busy tuitioning every day since monday. bo pian la, no $$$$. spending it so fast and not enuf coming in.... hopefully can save more during term time, den can put bodykit at the end of the year.... anyways, today went sim lim/bugis wif W. found out that the power supply to USB adaptor thingy actually exists. my fren was telling me that i had to invent it b4 i can use it.... not very ex also.... but i wonder if it actually works. cos it can switch on my mp3 player, but it doesnt seem to be charging. oh well, time will tell. did some other admin stuff for the trip. oh actually i went swimming/tanning yesterday at Safra wif yh and W. no sun towards the end though.... hmmm if i go Safra during term time, den i will apply the membership. though i think i wun ever do it cos i recall i din go at all during year 1. hehehe maybe should call W go raid Dah*** Park.... sssshhhhhhhhhhh
oh. i watched the negotiator yesterday. kenix kwok is still very chio.... and julian... ah.... shuai dai le.... missed LOST. gonna get the DVD for it when it comes out.... now, that calls for another trip to JB.... hehe

the past few days.
fri was a shack day. did housework in the morning before washing and waxing summer rain in the afternoon. talk about a good work out! sat went out damn late to celebrate daniel's birthday at 7+pm wif KC, Vince and a few others. haben seen them in ages... ate Fish & Co and chatted wif our friendly waitress. shes only 17 and studying in CJ. omigod! back when i was 17, i only knew to spend $$ and not earn it. so guilty, come to think of it. really admire her hardworkingness... sunday was another shack day. went to play a street soccer tournament which KC organised after tuition. in the end we finished 2nd. damn OFF! they converted one of their few chances while we couldnt find the net... abit dui... but suan le. when there are winners, there are bound to be losers. quite fun cos long time din kick a football le, much less play street soccer. considering we won a cadet inspectors team which played street soccer often in the semis, i think we did quite well. tot we would go all the way le since the CI team was the biggest threat, but the uncles team in the final had a superb goalkeeper. nothing we can do about that. no cup, but at least got vouchers... hope maybe have chance to play on a basketball court. shld i go and organise?? very long din play on our fave ground le.... hmmm today went wif Pat and Joseph to Orchard. din do anything much. cos Pat din bring his passport and neither did we go Bedok to change $$ cos had to go tampines to settle the trip stuff...

wait....
..... i haben mentioned my obsession wif 85.... went dere on tues after tuition wif W and Joseph who juz knocked off work. ate ba chor mee (no prizes for right guesses) and tang yuan and oh lua and sugar cane juice..... den this recently acquired insanity carried forward to today. yes, u guessed it, we went 85 again! this time wif Pat and Joseph. guess wad? i ate ba chor mee AGAIN and tang yuan and sugar cane again also.... guess the attractive part about 85 is that car park is cheap and more importantly, the food is cheap and good! free parking after 10.30 (LOL) and $2 food is hard to beat. nowadays i condemn food courts le. cos it cost freaking alot and the food usually is rubbish. imagine $4 for food and $1.60 for drinks. i rather eat fast food. though thats another thing i have not eaten for quite a while. ate BK on wed though. wif W. usual nonsense since fast food cannot possibly taste different. its already called junk food for goodness sake. any worse and it will be called garbage. b4 this i guess was KFC at JB? and b4 this, KFC while watching Kingdom of Heaven? well KFC in Singapore tastes much better den in JB tts for sure...
