wahhhhhh. 1st day with you gone. eventful day for me. went out at about 9am and came home about 12am. 3 hrs only. muahahaha. long post coming up, and might bore you to death. u've been warned~
morning went out to do alignment at workshop B. i reached at 930 but the shop B opens only at 10. grrrr. heng i nv go at 9. best part is i went to the wrong workshop to do. my old car and my friend's car both did at that shop B previously but apparently now they changed the shop but i still did at the old shop B. when i called and found out, they already started doing. lucky the shop A told me to pay shop B and then go back to shop A to claim the $$. nice flexible workshop! our fave shop A!
after tt we went to see rims. at this aircon shop. the prices were surprisingly reasonable. quite cheap in fact. i tot they are the chop carrot kind since they have an aircon showroom. drooled and drooled but din change. my powers of control also sibei good de. maybe when its time to change i bring you there and find something both of us like. hahaha. anyway dun worry i have decided not to buy new ones now. definitely! as for the 2nd hand ones, seems like both deals are not lowering their prices yet. perhaps wait till they slash prices more. hahaha. no hurry. i can wait.
den after tt we went jurong east! piang eh jurong. tio con there. had lunch den went to teban gardens. ulu land! but got alfa romeo, lotus and lamborghini showrooms. wah piang the new car smell. inhale......ahhhhhh! so nice~ i in fact test drove the alfa romeo mito. not bad, quite power like the vw golf twincharge. cheap also. 74k. but 2 door hatchback. so fail, fail. it was a manual and i not used to it liao :x at one time i tried to move off from gear 6 instead of gear 2 man. 4got to downshift. my fren drove the alfa romeo 159. big and cheap sia. 89k, 15k off the normal price. got promo now. but not very fast compared to our jetta. haha. you like alfa romeos? den the rest kept drooling at the lambos outside the showroom while i stayed inside to enjoy the aircon. hahaha. den we went porsche, rolls royce, mini, audi showrooms. porsche got 1 lady SE wah very friendly sia. not stuck up at all and entertained my qns. steady. she say 5-10 years later can afford liao. hahaha. i also hope so. porsche sibei nice sia everywhere is leather. even the doors etc. mini was so so nia. dun like hatchbacks. but audi damn chio and nice. though din get any SE to entertain us.
and then.... went back tamp to meet pat. but he wanna buy stuff, and i nv bring singlet. so we decided not to run and go TM. who knows both TM and CS carparks both full house so we decided to go elsewhere. den simei and pasir ris all no GV. sad case man. so we went down to PS. wah piang the fort canning carpark full liao so i did illegal uturn and parked at the single yellow line behind the church there. scary sia cos my car was the only car parked along tt road when we left, and when we came back it was still the only car.
PS all the restaurants were queueing sia damn sick. wad recession? hahaha. den we watched xmen wolverine. wah very nice sia. action packed but it sort of follows the xmen storyline. brings back memories man. den we were like trying to identify the various xmen characters in the movie. shiok. den after tt wanted to go selegie beancurd but alot cars and saw muz queue damn long for the beancurd. 4get it man go home sleep sleep. btw, man utd won the league! 18 times. on par wif liverpoo liao. neh neh poo poo liverpool fans can SHUT THE F**K UP now! we caught the 1st half den after tt we went off to watch movie liao. :x in fact we nv really concentrate on the match during the 1st half too. hahaha. ok better stop typing liao later u faint.

60% of my block leave is over
ok as usual i had an itchy backside. apart from debadging the car, i added a bootlip spoiler. very cheap! cant resist! after that the backside got itchier. i got coilovers brand new! probably no 2nd hand stuff for my car. very nice height of 1 finger in front and -2 behind. but the exhaust is scraping the rear kerbs. and some plastic protrusions below the car are scraping some higher humps. damn. gonna increase the rear height by 2 fingers. possibly lowering the front by 1 finger. hopefully no more mods until the tyres wear out.... shall consider 16" vs 18" then. wanted to get 19" but i didnt have space to store them....

after europe
wow. was in europe for 2.5 months and started work right after i came back. din have the time or energy to write something here since. europe was brilliant and very beautiful. the best time of my life so far.
decided to change Summer Rain to version 2. ok i have no complains. i bought version 1 as A->B transport and it did its job. cant expect much performance from her yeah? it was a very beautiful journey. i learnt so much about my favourite hobby since young. all the meaningless modding and all the accidents. no major failures so far apart from a leaking coolant hose which prevented me from sleeping well the night before a major presentation. i din care about the warranty and serviced it outside. i repaired everything outside as well, all in the name of $$. korean engineering aint all that bad as the car din give much problems. but now the brakes and drive shaft are showing some signs of trouble. (im just trying to justify my itchy backside hahaha)
it had very cold aircon, and nothing else. sound insulation was crappy, power was seriously lacking. but hell it sure gave me a trouble-free A->B mode of transport. i really learnt alot. driving techniques as well as technical knowledge about cars. goodbye to my 1st love, i will remember you always!
and now version 2. i know i said she will have >200hp. so now im downgrading. <200hp and smaller engine cc in fact. the wrx is really cheap now but the maintenance is damn exp. guess i'll nv be the beng i always wanted to be. the >200hp car with the loud loud big big exhaust. anyways i upgraded in other ways, skipping japs and going to conti. they say once u go conti, u'll nv go back. i wonder if tts true for my case?
anyhow i had heard all the raving about the DSG gearbox and recently, i finally moved my butt down to leng kee to test it out. OMG it was SO DAMN GOOD i had the impulse to buy it on the spot. dual clutch manual transmission. this is THE transmission of choice in sports cars nowadays as its faster than a traditional manual, and u can drive it in full auto mode too. no more of the traditional auto gearbox with the rubbish torque converter and laggy shifts.
AND i also heard about volkswagen's absolutely brilliant twin-charged 1.4 litre engine. it has a supercharger for the low end, and a turbocharger for the mid and high end..... very linear pull with no lag or jerks in between. all the way to a redline of 7k. its absolutely brilliant and doubled my impulse to buy it on the spot. 170hp out of a 1.4 litre. simply amazing. i heard all the hype about the Golf GT, but i then discovered it had a version with a boot, the jetta! im SOLD! cos i dun really fancy hatches.
high car price(but its a conti!), high insurance(but its a sports car!), high interest rate(i was too late!). but low coe! it sold for near 100k 10 months back. buy buy buy! i had problems with the loan initially, but now its sorted! ok so its a conti. no more clutter. no more mods. esp dumb cosmetic ones. agent servicing (until i can no longer afford it or think its just too exp) perhaps i will do only coilovers and bigger rims, but even those will be in the far future. the only mod i will do in the near future is to debadge the car. hahaha.
however this time round, i dun really feel the urgency to get the car asap. maybe cos i already have a car to travel around in. in fact i think it is good to collect it later, as i have already paid the instalment for the current car for this month. maximise the $$ spent. hahaha. more imptly, i have more time to dekit my car. currently left with rims (the most impt one!). headunit and open pod sold. im pessimistic about the strut bar, springs and fog light since they are model specific and there arent many 2004 rios running around now. some one pls buy my rims! haha.
